GOST & Rotta Fire Hose Couplings

Aluminum or brass cast couplings built to GOST 28352-89. Gost's symmetrical two-claw hermaphrodite design links hose to hose or pump; Rotta's rigid 3-lug end-piece locks hose to hydrants and fire engine pumps. DN50–DN150, BSP thread, 16 bar rated, NBR gasket (-30°C to +120°C). Reliable, field-ready connections for fire suppression systems.

Fire Hose Couplings

Product Datasheet - Hose Coupling Series

Symmetrical hermaphrodite claw couplings and 3-lug interlocking Rotta fittings, built to GOST 28352-89 for connecting fire hoses to hydrants, pumping units and hose appliances across the CIS market.

 STD GOST 28352-89

 SIZE DN50–DN150

 PRESSURE 16 BAR / 232 PSI

 THREAD BSP

1

Two Coupling Systems, One Standard

Both fittings are manufactured to the GOST 28352-89 normative regulation but solve different jobs on the hose line - one is genderless for hose-to-hose runs, the other is a fixed hydrant-side connector.

Symmetrical / Hermaphrodite

Gost Coupling

A two-claw hermaphrodite connection system with no fixed male or female half, so any two units join in either orientation. Used to connect fire hoses to each other or to link a hose directly to a pumping unit - available across the full DN50–DN150 range.

3-Lug / Interlocking

Rotta Coupling

The Russian-standard fire hose end-piece, formed as a rigid interlocking fitting with 3 lugs. It terminates the hose and locks onto hydrants, fire engine pump outlets, and other hose appliances for a secure, quarter-turn engagement.

Assembly Drawing - GOST DN50–52 Long Tail Coupling

Every coupling leaving Ca-Fire is built to a controlled assembly drawing. Below is the reference drawing for the GOST DN50, DN50–52 long-tail-pipe version, showing the four-part construction and casting materials used on the pump/tail side of the fitting.

product-526-747
Item Part Name Material Qty.
1 GOST DN50–52 Tail Pipe ADC12 1
2 GOST DN50 Body 6082 1
3 O-Ring, ID Ø56 × 2.4 mm NBR 1
4 KA66 Edge-Free Binding Ring NBR 1

Assembly note: the O-ring is grease-coated on assembly; fit tolerance is controlled so the coupling can be tightened securely yet still disassembled for service without special tooling.

Where It's Used

Hydrant & Pump Connection

Rotta end-pieces lock hose lines directly onto fire hydrants and fire engine pump outlets for fast, secure deployment.

Hose-to-Hose Extension

Gost hermaphrodite couplings join two hose lengths in either orientation to extend reach across a fireground.

Suction Line Assemblies

Used on suction hoses feeding pumping units, matched with brass or aluminum bodies depending on the application.

FAQ

Q: What is the difference between a Gost coupling and a Rotta coupling?

A: A Gost coupling is symmetrical and hermaphrodite - it has two identical claws, so any two units join together regardless of orientation, making it suited to hose-to-hose or hose-to-pump connections. A Rotta coupling is a fixed, 3-lug rigid interlocking end-piece fitted to one end of the hose, designed specifically to lock onto hydrants, fire engine pumps and other fixed hose appliances.

Q: What sizes are available, and can Ca-Fire produce custom sizes?

A: Standard production covers DN50 up to DN150 in line with GOST 28352-89. Custom tail-pipe lengths, hose-tail diameters and thread configurations - such as the DN50–52 long-tail variant shown in our assembly drawing - can be produced against a client-approved drawing.

Q: What materials and pressure rating do these couplings carry?

A: Bodies are cast in aluminum (standard) or brass (optional, e.g. 6082 alloy for the main body and ADC12 for the tail pipe on our reference drawing), rated for a working pressure of 16 bar / 232 psi with a BSP thread interface.

Q: What gasket material is fitted, and what temperatures can it handle?

A: Each coupling is sealed with an NBR gasket, rated for continuous service from -30°C to +120°C, suitable for outdoor hydrant and fireground use across a wide climate range.

Q: Can these couplings be supplied under our own part numbers for OEM or overseas orders?

A: Yes. Ca-Fire regularly manufactures against client-supplied assembly drawings and part numbering - as shown on our own controlled drawing (DWG No. 3401013-1) - and can mirror your part numbers, packaging and documentation for OEM and overseas distribution orders.
