Valve Position: The switch must be installed only when the gate valve is in the fully open position. This establishes the baseline for the monitoring arm.
Mechanical Alignment: The switch housing must be mounted on the valve yoke so that the spring-loaded operating arm rests securely against the valve stem. It should be positioned in a "groove" or on a flat section of the stem so that any downward movement (closing of the valve) forces the arm to move and trip the internal switch.
