CA-FIRE Stainless Steel Deluge Valve Manufacturers

Stainless Steel Deluge Valve Manufacturers produce deluge alarm valves made of 304, 316 or 316L stainless steel. These valves are the core control devices in the fire water supply system and are composed of components such as the valve body, valve disc, control chamber, water pressure alarm bell interface, pressure switch interface, inlet, outlet, and electromagnetic valve (or manual control valve). The core working principle of these valves is "pressure-controlled opening and closing": normally, the valve disc remains tightly closed by the water pressure in the control chamber to ensure that the fire water pipeline is in a ready state. When a fire occurs, the fire detector (such as temperature or smoke detectors) or the manual alarm button sends an alarm signal, and the control module triggers the opening of the electromagnetic valve (or manually opens the manual control valve), releasing the pressure in the control chamber. At this time, the high-pressure water from the inlet pushes the valve disc to open rapidly, delivering a large volume and high-pressure fire water to the sprinkler heads of the deluge system, achieving large-scale sprinkler fire extinguishing or fire cooling.

Material properties

It has extremely strong corrosion resistance, and the core lies in its alloy composition design - 304 stainless steel contains 18% chromium and 8% nickel, which can form a dense chromium oxide protective film on the surface, effectively resisting common acid and alkali media (such as organic acids in food factories and weak alkali cleaning agents in electronics factories) erosion; 316/316L stainless steel adds 2%-3% molybdenum elements on this basis, this component upgrade significantly improves its tolerance to salt fog and chloride ions, even in coastal areas with high salt fog environments or in scenarios where the chloride ion concentration in salt chemical enterprises exceeds the standard, it can avoid pitting corrosion and intergranular corrosion. At the same time, it has excellent high-temperature performance. 316L stainless steel can operate stably within the extreme temperature range of -270℃ to 450℃, not only resisting the low-temperature expansion of outdoor fire water pipelines in northern winters, but also adapting to the high-temperature environment around steel mills' converter workshops and chemical reaction vessels. Moreover, the stainless steel material fundamentally eliminates the risk of rusting. Compared with the 5-8 years of service life of ordinary cast iron alarm valves, its normal service life can reach more than 20 years, significantly reducing equipment replacement and maintenance costs, especially suitable for core fire protection systems with extremely high reliability requirements.

Safety & Compliance Tips

product-800-800

1. 304 Stainless Steel:

Suitable for mild corrosive environments, in such scenarios, the concentration of corrosive media is low and the affected area is small. The anti-corrosion performance of 304 stainless steel is sufficient to meet the requirements. For example, in the acid washing workshop and fermentation workshop of food processing plants, small amounts of acid and alkali vapors are produced during the production process. The 304 stainless steel alarm valve can resist steam corrosion and also complies with the hygiene standards of the food industry, without polluting the production environment. Although the data center computer room has a dry environment, the precision equipment has extremely low tolerance for the failure of the fire protection system. The 304 stainless steel has no rusting risk and can reduce the frequency of equipment maintenance, avoiding the paralysis of the fire protection system in the data center due to the failure of the alarm valve. In addition, in places such as the clean area of the pharmaceutical factory and the assembly workshop of the electronic component factory, 304 stainless steel alarm valves are also often selected, taking into account both the anti-corrosion and cleanliness requirements.

2. 316/316L Stainless Steel:

Designed specifically for highly corrosive environments, it is the preferred material for high-risk scenarios such as coastal areas and chemical industries. The open-air fire protection systems in coastal ports are constantly exposed to salt fog for long periods. Ordinary materials will corrode and fail within 1-2 years. The molybdenum element in 316L stainless steel can form a denser oxide protective film, preventing chloride ions from penetrating, and it can be used stably for over 15 years. In chemical industrial parks, the production and storage areas, as well as some areas with slight medium leakage, 316/316L stainless steel can withstand these corrosive media and ensure that the alarm valve operates reliably during a fire. In salt chemical enterprises' salt production workshops and seawater desalination plants, the fire protection systems directly use seawater with high chloride ion content as the fire water source. 316L stainless steel is the only material that can withstand long-term seawater erosion, avoiding valve body corrosion perforation and resulting in fire water leakage. In addition, the fire protection systems of offshore drilling platforms and near-sea vessels must also use 316L stainless steel alarm valves to cope with the strong corrosion challenges of the marine environment.

FAQ

1. What materials are used for this valve?
Common materials include cast iron, ductile iron, stainless steel, and brass, offering corrosion resistance and durability for industrial and fire protection applications.

2. What is the working pressure range?
Pressure ratings vary by model, typically ranging from PN10 to PN25 (150–300 PSI). Always check specifications for your system requirements.

3. How do I install a flanged gate valve?
Ensure proper alignment of flanges, use appropriate gaskets, tighten bolts evenly, and follow manufacturer guidelines. Full testing after installation is recommended.

4. How often should the valve be maintained?
Regular inspection and maintenance are recommended at least once a year or according to system standards. Check for leaks, corrosion, and smooth operation.
