CA-FIRE Hydraulic Silent Check Valve

Engineered for modern fluid infrastructure, the Silent Check Valve (non-return valve) serves as a critical safeguard against backflow in HVAC, industrial, and municipal water networks. The design features a precision-guided, lift-type disc that traverses a central axis, ensuring high-frequency stability and linear accuracy. To accommodate diverse operational demands, it offers interchangeable seating options-resilient rubber for zero-leakage or metallic hard-seals for heavy-duty environments. The synergy of a high-response spring mechanism and a built-in hydraulic damping chamber effectively neutralizes water hammer, delivering exceptionally quiet performance and protecting upstream motors and pumps from counter-rotation damage.

Application & Advantages

Applications

The Silent Check Valve, also referred to as an anti-return or one-way valve, plays a vital role in controlling fluid flow and safeguarding equipment across multiple industries:

Building Systems: Ensures consistent one-way flow in high-rise water supply networks and HVAC pipelines.

Industrial Pipelines: Suitable for fluid networks carrying water or oil, providing reliable backflow prevention.

Pump & Motor Protection: Prevents reverse flow that could damage pumps or motors, maintaining operational safety.

High-Pressure Systems: Capable of operating efficiently in pipelines with nominal pressures from 1.0 MPa up to 2.5 MPa.

Temperature Resistance: Stable performance in systems with working temperatures up to 80°C.

Advantages

Enhanced Noise Control: The spring-assisted fast closure and lightweight disc design reduce operational noise caused by fluid reversal.

Water Hammer Prevention: Hydraulic damping chambers gradually release pressure during closure, protecting pipelines from surges and shocks.

Smooth & Stable Operation: Lift-type valve disc guided along a central axis ensures friction-free, jam-resistant motion.

Flexible Sealing Options: Choice of soft rubber seals for tight leak-proof applications or durable metal seals for high-demand conditions.

Compliance with Standards: Manufactured to PN10, PN16, and PN25 specifications, rigorously tested up to 3.75 MPa to guarantee sealing performance.

Low Maintenance & Durability: Robust construction and long service life reduce the need for frequent inspection or replacement.

Installation Requirements

1. Direction and Orientation

Flow Direction: The valve must be installed with the flow arrow (cast on the body) pointing in the direction of the fluid flow. Reverse installation will prevent flow entirely.

Horizontal Installation: When installed horizontally, the valve has no specific upward orientation; however, it is recommended to keep the nameplate visible for future reference.

Vertical Installation: The silent check valve is ideal for vertical pipelines with upward flow. For vertical downward flow, please consult the technical department as a stronger spring may be required to support the disc weight.

2. Piping and Clearance

Straight Pipe Run: To ensure stable operation and minimize turbulence/vibration, it is recommended to install the valve with a straight section of pipe at least 3 to 5 pipe diameters upstream from pumps, elbows, or other fittings.

Flange Alignment: Ensure mating flanges are parallel and correctly aligned. Using the valve to "pull" misaligned pipes into place may cause flange cracking or seal failure.

Gasket Selection: Use full-face gaskets (minimum 1/16" thickness) for PN10/PN16/PN25 connections to ensure a pressure-tight joint between the valve body and the seat.

3. Pre-Installation Preparation

System Flushing: Thoroughly clean the piping system to remove welding slag, sand, and other debris before installation. Foreign particles can damage the internal spring or prevent the disc from sealing correctly.

Inspection: Verify that the valve's pressure rating (PN10/16/25) matches the system's working pressure before bolting.

4. Tightening Procedure

Cross-Tightening: Tighten flange bolts in a graduated, diagonal (crisscross) sequence. This ensures even pressure distribution on the gasket and prevents stress concentration on the valve body.
