CMSA Series Warehouse Special Application Sprinklers
The CMSA Series is a range of special application sprinklers designed for high-challenge warehouse environments. Available in pendant (X) and upright (Z) configurations, the series covers K-factors from K161 to K363 for installation heights up to 12.0 meters. Dual temperature ratings of 68°C and 74°C accommodate varied ambient conditions, while Q5 quick response options deliver rapid fire control where needed. Fully certified to GB 5135.9-2018 standards, CMSA sprinklers provide reliable protection for distribution centers, cold storage, pharmaceutical warehouses, and high-bay storage facilities.
What is CMSA Technology?
CMSA sprinklers operate on the control mode principle: rather than attempting immediate fire suppression, they are engineered to control fire growth by cooling surrounding areas and pre-wetting adjacent combustibles. This approach limits fire spread to a manageable size until firefighting personnel arrive.
Unlike ESFR sprinklers that require high pressure for rapid suppression, CMSA sprinklers deliver superior water discharge at lower operating pressures through large K-factors, making them ideal for protecting high-piled storage up to 12 meters in height.

1 System Compatibility
CMSA sprinklers are approved for use in wet pipe, dry pipe, and preaction sprinkler systems. All installations must comply with NFPA 13 Chapter 13 requirements and the specific sprinkler listing criteria.
2 Deflector Positioning
Unobstructed construction: Deflectors must be positioned 150-200mm (6-8 inches) below ceiling. Obstructed construction: Deflectors must be 150-300mm (6-12 inches) below ceiling with maximum 550mm (22 inches) from structural members.
3 Spacing Requirements
Maximum spacing between sprinklers: 3.0m x 3.0m (10ft x 10ft) for standard coverage. Minimum spacing: 2.4m (8ft) between sprinklers. Always refer to manufacturer's listing for specific spacing criteria.
4 Temperature Selection
Select temperature rating at least 30°C (54°F) above maximum expected ambient temperature. 68°C rating for ambient ≤ 38°C; 74°C rating for ambient ≤ 44°C.
