Engineered for dry-pipe and pre-action sprinkler systems in sub-zero environments, our Dry-Type Pendent Sprinkler eliminates freeze-damage risk by relocating the precision German K-factor glass bulb and metal seal to the top of the threaded inlet, leaving the entire drop nipple empty of water. With no trapped water or condensate to expand on freezing, this freeze-proof sprinkler is the go-to solution for unheated warehouses, cold-storage logistics, parking decks, and seasonal facilities that must be fully drained between cycles, delivering reliable, maintenance-free fire suppression down to –40 °C without costly heat tracing.
Working Principle
Inside the dry pendent sprinkler, incoming air pressure does two jobs at once. Most of the compressed air sits above the clapper valve, holding back the water supply; a small, carefully-metered drop in pressure-triggered by heat-bulb activation-peels off and releases the clapper. That sudden loss of pressure lets the valve swing open, allowing water to surge through the previously empty drop nipple and out the deflector. The water meets open air, atomizes, and forms a uniform spray that blankets combustibles and knocks down the fire-no trapped water, no freeze damage, no fuss.
