Explosion-Proof Electric Fixed-Mount Fire Monitor

Chemical storage tank areas are flammable, explosive, and highly corrosive. Therefore, fixed fire monitors must meet explosion-proof and corrosion-resistant standards. They should be installed 5-8 meters from the edge of the tank and utilize explosion-proof equipment (Exd II BT4). The housing is constructed of 316 stainless steel, resistant to acid and alkali corrosion.

The installation process adheres to strict explosion-proof requirements: All metal components are connected to the same potential, with a ground resistance no greater than 4Ω. The junction box is flameproof, and cables are routed through galvanized explosion-proof conduit, with joints sealed with explosion-proof sealant. Water pipes are plastic-lined steel, and flange connections are fitted with oil-resistant rubber gaskets.

Commissioning requires simulating hazardous operating conditions: Under well-ventilated conditions, flame detection sensitivity is tested using propane gas to ensure it can detect a 0.5 m2 fire source from 10 meters away. Spray stability is also tested at a water pressure of 0.6 MPa, ensuring continuous spraying for one hour without leaks. An operational linkage safety system is used: linked to the gas detection devices in the storage tank area, water monitors automatically enter alert mode when combustible gas concentrations exceed the specified limit. In the event of a fire, the foam mixing system is activated first, followed by the water monitors, creating a foam blanket to suffocate the fire. The operation panel is located in an explosion-proof control room and uses intrinsically safe buttons to prevent sparks.

Maintenance requires anti-static clothing: Inspect the explosion-proof surface with specialized tools every two weeks and apply vaseline to prevent rust. Detection devices are calibrated monthly to prevent interference from chemical gases. Corrosion-resistant seals are replaced quarterly, and the tanks are inspected for rust and perforations.
