The Range Of Emergency Rescue Tasks

The range of emergency rescue tasks handled by firefighting and rescue teams is becoming increasingly wide, covering high-altitude, aquatic, underground, fast-flowing, cold, hot, smoky, electromagnetic, and polluted environments. Traditional firefighting missions are also becoming more complex, with increased danger and difficulty during disposal. On average, the number of people involved in handling each incident has increased from 9.7 to 10.4 compared to the previous year, and the average disposal time has also increased. Looking at the seasonal distribution of incidents throughout the year, firefighting and rescue teams responded to 1.222 million incidents between May and    October, accounting for 55.9% of the total incidents for the year. During this period, the occurrence of natural disasters such as heavy rainfall, typhoons, mudslides, and floods, as well as chemical accidents and traffic accidents, is high.

To effectively address the challenges faced by firefighters, foam agents have become an important tool in firefighting. Foam agents can create a barrier between the burning materials and the air, suppressing the fire and preventing it from spreading. Additionally, foam agents can help firefighters to apply water more effectively and quickly. There are two types of foam agents: AFFF (Aqueous Film-Forming Foam) and AR-AFFF (Alcohol-Resistant Aqueous Film-Forming Foam). Both are effective in extinguishing fires in different environments, such as in flammable and combustible liquid spills, and in enclosed spaces like basement fires.

Foam agents are widely used in industrial and commercial settings where large amounts of flammable liquids are stored, such as refineries, chemical plants, and warehouses. It is a key component of high-risk industry fire suppression systems, with the ability to quickly extinguish fires and prevent catastrophic damage.

In conclusion, with the increasing complexity and dangers faced by firefighting and rescue teams, foam agents are an essential tool in firefighting. They have proven to be effective in extinguishing fires in a range of environments, especially where flammable liquids are present.
