A Firefighting Foam

   On July 23, 2022, Joanna Simones, a firefighter, was seen carrying a dog she rescued from a wildfire in Mariposa County, California. This was the third wildfire to occur in the county in the last two weeks. The Washburn Fire began on July 7 near the south entrance of Yosemite National Park and has since burned over 4,800 acres, with 79% of the fire now contained. The fire threatened the Mariposa Grove of giant sequoias in the park, but was eventually brought under control, allowing the south entrance to reopen on Saturday morning. The smaller    Agua Fire, which officials say was caused by a car, began on July 18 and has since been completely contained after burning around 420 acres of land.
   During these wildfires, firefighting foam has played a crucial role in containing the flames.
