Working Principle
- The wet alarm valve is to rely on the reduction or elevation of the water pressure on the side of the pipe network system to open and close the valve disc.
- In standby mode, when the water supply pressure fluctuates slightly, the bypass balance pipe can balance the upper and lower water pressures of the valve disc, so that the upper pressure surface of the valve disc is greater than the lower pressure surface, so that the valve disc will not open and cause false alarms.
- When a fire occurs, the water pressure on the pipe network side decreases due to the water spray explosion, resulting in a pressure difference between the water supply side and the system side, causing the valve to open and the opened nozzle to continue to supply water.
The matters needing attention during installation and operation of the wet alarm valve are as follows.
- When installing the wet alarm valve, pay attention to the direction of the valve body. And carry out pipeline flushing before installation to avoid sedimentation of mud, sand and dirt, and to prevent blockage of the annular groove.
- During installation, if it is found that even if the wet alarm valve is closed, there is still water flowing out of the drain port of the delayer, indicating that the valve flap is not tightly sealed and should be checked, repaired or updated.
- The working status of the alarm system should be checked regularly. Generally, water can be discharged through the end test device of the automatic sprinkler system to confirm whether the pressure switch, hydraulic alarm bell and wet alarm valve are normally watered.
- Frequently check whether the pipeline system is blocked. The inspection method is: close the valve on the pipeline to the delayer and hydraulic alarm bell, and open the ball valve of the main drain pipe. If a large amount of water flows out, the pipeline is unobstructed.
