1. Product Overview & Key Advantages

1.1 Product Overview

The ZSFM Deluge Alarm Valve is a diaphragm-driven control valve that serves as the backbone of deluge alarm systems. It integrates with detection controls, sprinklers, valves, and fittings to form fire suppression systems, ideal for deluge setups, pre-action systems, water curtain/water mist systems, foam systems, and as a control valve for dry indoor hydrant systems. Suitable for high-traffic and high-risk locations-hospitals, hotels, malls, factories, airports, libraries, stadiums, exhibition centers, and substations-this valve features a diaphragm that segregates the water supply side (inlet) from the system side (outlet) during standby. When fire triggers a pressure drop in the diaphragm's control chamber, the valve opens to release water, while activating hydraulic alarm bells and pressure switches for immediate alerts. It supports three control configurations: wet, dry, and electronic, ensuring adaptability to varied fire safety scenarios.

1.2 Key Advantages

Versatile System Integration: Seamlessly works with deluge, pre-action, water curtain/water mist, foam systems, and dry hydrant setups-eliminating the need for multiple specialized valves.

Triple Control Configurations: Wet (closed sprinklers), dry (open sprinklers + fire detectors), and electronic (open sprinklers + electronic detectors) options to match different environmental and safety requirements.

Extensive Model Selection: 13 models spanning DN50 to DN350, plus grooved "G-series" variants, offering flange or grooved connections to fit diverse pipeline sizes.

Robust Operational Performance: Functions reliably within a pressure range of 0.14MPa to 1.6MPa and ambient temperatures of 4℃ to 70℃, enduring harsh industrial and commercial conditions.

Built-In Alarm Mechanism: Comes with a hydraulic alarm bell and pressure switch for real-time fire alerts, enabling swift emergency responses.

Flexible Installation: Standard vertical mounting; horizontal installation available (must be specified in the purchase contract to ensure proper configuration).

3. Installation, Debugging & Maintenance Guidelines

3.1 Installation Requirements

Environment & Placement: Install in environments with temperatures between 4℃ and 70℃. Mount the valve at a height of 1.2m, leaving ample space around for installation and future maintenance.

Alarm Bell Setup: The hydraulic alarm bell should be installed no higher than 2m; if extending the connecting pipeline, keep the length under 20m to maintain alarm efficiency.

Auxiliary Valves: Equip the valve's inlet and outlet with fire signal butterfly valves to simplify control and maintenance procedures.

Flow Detection: Utilize pressure switches as the primary water flow detection and alarm device in the protected area.

Special Mounting: Horizontal installation is available but must be clearly noted in the purchase contract to ensure factory-calibrated compatibility.

Transport & Handling: Protect the valve from rain and impacts during transportation; handle with care during loading and unloading to avoid component damage.

3.2 Debugging Procedures

3.2.1 Manual Debugging

Confirm all components are fully assembled. Close all valves except the manual start valve (6), alarm ball valve (7), and reset valve (15).

Supply pressure water (≥0.14MPa) to the water supply side, then slowly open the inlet signal butterfly valve (2).

As pressurized water enters the valve assembly, the hydraulic alarm bell (9) and pressure switch (8) will activate, and the automatic drain valve (3) will close.

When water discharges from the manual start valve (opened earlier to expel cavity air), close the valve. The diaphragm will reset within 3–100 seconds, the alarm bell will stop, and the automatic drain valve will open (open drain valve (12) to accelerate water removal).

Close the reset valve (15) and open the outlet signal butterfly valve (10). Debugging is complete, and the valve enters standby mode (valves 2, 7, and 10 fully open; all other valves closed).

3.2.2 Electronic Signal Activation Test

Ensure the valve is in standby mode, then close the outlet signal butterfly valve (10).

Connect a 24V electrical signal to the solenoid valve (14); the solenoid valve will open, triggering the deluge valve.

The anti-reset device will drain continuously, the hydraulic alarm bell will activate, and the pressure switch will engage.

Disconnect the 24V signal, then open the reset valve (15) to reset the valve.

Verify no leakage after reset, close the reset valve (15), and fully open the outlet signal butterfly valve (10) to return to standby.

3.3 Maintenance Recommendations

Monthly Inspections: Conduct monthly visual checks and simulation tests. Close inlet/outlet signal butterfly valves, clear pipelines and filters of scale and debris, inspect the diaphragm for aging or damage, and unclog flow holes in the hydraulic alarm bell and anti-reset device. Document all findings for future reference.

Leakage Resolution:

Persistent leakage (continuous dripping from the automatic drain valve): Check for leaks in the solenoid valve or manual start valve. If no leaks are found, disassemble the valve cover to remove foreign objects from the diaphragm gasket's sealing surface.

Leakage from the anti-reset device's pressure relief hole: Confirm the water supply pressure meets operational requirements. If pressure is adequate, clean the anti-reset device (to remove stuck debris) or loosen over-tightened components (wrap threads with PTFE tape and assemble half a turn looser than before).

Component Replacement: Replace aging or damaged diaphragms and seals promptly to preserve the valve's sealing performance and operational reliability.

4. Packaging & Transportation

Our products are packaged in export-grade wooden crates or pallets to ensure safe transit. This packaging provides robust stability, prevents damage during handling, and guarantees that products reach customers in pristine condition.

5. Application Scenarios

Commercial & Public Spaces: Hotels, shopping malls, hospitals, libraries, stadiums, and exhibition centers.

Industrial Facilities: Factories, power plants, substations, and manufacturing workshops.

Transportation Hubs: Airports, railway stations, and subway stations.

Specialized Environments: Data centers, museums, and high-value asset storage areas (for water curtain/water mist systems).

Fire Protection Systems: Deluge systems, pre-action systems, foam systems, and dry indoor fire hydrant systems.

6. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Which control configurations are compatible with this deluge alarm valve?A: It works with three control setups: wet (closed sprinklers), dry (open sprinklers + fire detectors), and electronic (open sprinklers + electronic detectors), making it adaptable to various fire safety needs.

Q: Is horizontal installation an option for this valve?A: Yes, horizontal installation is available, but it must be explicitly requested in the purchase contract-vertical installation is the standard configuration.

Q: What are the installation constraints for the hydraulic alarm bell?A: The hydraulic alarm bell should be mounted at a height not exceeding 2m. If the connecting pipeline needs to be extended, the total length must not surpass 20m to ensure proper alarm functionality.

Q: How frequently should the deluge valve be maintained?A: Monthly inspections and simulation tests are recommended to verify component reliability, clear debris, and ensure the valve operates effectively in emergency situations.

Q: What accessories come included with the valve?A: The valve is supplied with a solenoid valve, pressure gauge, hydraulic alarm bell, pressure switch, instruction manual, packing list, and qualification certificate. Fire signal butterfly valves and other system components require separate ordering.
