Application of butterfly valve

The valve with metal seal generally has a longer life than the valve with elastic seal, but it is difficult to achieve complete seal. Metal seals can adapt to higher operating temperatures, while elastic seals have temperature-limited defects.

If the butterfly valve is required to be used as a flow control, the main thing is to correctly select the size and type of valve. The structure principle of butterfly valve is especially suitable for the production of large diameter valves. Butterfly valve is not only widely used in petroleum, gas, chemical industry, water treatment and other general industry, but also used in the cooling water system of thermal power station. Commonly used butterfly valves are clamping butterfly valves and flanged butterfly valves. Clamping butterfly valve is connected between two pipe flanges with a double-headed bolt, flanged butterfly valve is a valve with a flange, and the two ends of the valve are connected to the pipe flange with bolts.

In the fully open position, the thickness of the disc is the only resistance when the medium flows through the valve body, so the pressure generated through the valve will be small, and it is estimated that there is a better flow control characteristic. Butterfly valves have two seal types: elastic seal and metal seal. Elastomeric sealing valve, the sealing ring can be mounted on the valve body or attached to the periphery of the disc.
